Having
your first child is the most stressful event in the life
of a family according to social work literature. It brings
about the most change. A couple who had been fine can
find themselves stressed and having increasing conflict.
The new baby doesn’t come with a set of directions
and most people underestimate the responsibility. Support
for new couples can make a big difference in helping them
have realistic expectations and be able to work things
out. Couples also struggle with balancing work and parenting.
It’s hard to have enough time for work, parenting,
and housekeeping. Time as a couple often comes last but
is essential in nurturing a marriage/partnership. I offer
counseling for new parents and Balancing Work and Family
Seminars for companies.
